The event was presided by Mr. Kobchai Sangsitsawat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, who also presented the awards and gave a congratulatory speech to the 13 award-winning organizations. The event was held at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center (BITEC), Bangkok.
Mr. Kobchai commended executives and staff for raising management standards and showing commitment to develop and continually improve their organization, thus strengthening the country's economy. He asked participants to share their knowledge and best practices with others, and to serve as a model for organizational improvements, for the betterment of the country.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Athisarn Wayuparb, member and Secretary of the Thailand Quality Awards, and Executive Director of the Thailand Productivity Institute, explained that the award ceremony is an annual activity to honor exceptional organizations with an outstanding, internationally-recognized award. This year, 28 organizations were honored from various sectors; manufacturing, the service sector, public health, and education.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat pointed out that PSU’s Management Sciences cover all departments: health sciences, science and technology, humanities, and social sciences. PSU encourages gaining new knowledge through research in academic services and professional services, in a multicultural environment at its five campuses. The President then highlighted that while the present situation posed a challenge, the adoption of the TQA criteria since 2015 has given the organization a clearer view to develop its systems. As a result, all campuses have been developed as a single unit (PSU One System) for decision-making, developing systematic work environments, and creating socially responsible innovations. PSU delivers its products and valuable services to clients and society, and is always ready to cultivate the next generation of future leaders and global citizens.
