In July 2024, the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities announced its latest rankings on www.webometrics.info. PSU was honored as the No. 1 university in Southern Thailand, ranked 6th nationwide, and placed 856th globally. This ranking included 192 universities from Thailand among a total of 1,622 universities worldwide.
The Webometrics Ranking of World Universities evaluates universities' performance as "E-universities" using three key indicators:

Visibility (Impact) – This measures the number of external links (subnets) connecting to the university's web pages, making up 50% of the total score.

Transparency (Openness) – This indicator assesses the number of citations of research works from the top 310 leading researchers at the university, as indexed by Google Scholar, accounting for 10% of the score.

Excellence (Scholar) – This measures the volume of highly cited research papers (within the top 10%) from the Scimago database, contributing 40% to the total score.

This ranking emphasizes the increasing global presence and influence of Thai institutions in critical areas such as research visibility, transparency, and scholarly impact.
