PSU Faculty of Management Sciences passed eligibility application by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB)

The PSU Faculty of Management Sciences has been in the process of obtaining official AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate-Schools of Business) accreditation for Business Administration, Accounting and Management Education.

Asst. Prof. Theerawat Hungsapruek, Dean, revealed that the faculty is committed to raising the level of education in business administration, accounting and management to be recognized internationally through accreditation by reputable and recognized institutions. Since 2011, the faculty has been a member of AACSB, the oldest and most respected institution in the world that provides accreditation of educational standards in business administration and accounting. Currently, only 5% of the 13,670 institutions in the world are accredited by this standard, with the vast majority based in the United States and Europe. In Thailand, only seven educational institutions for business administration, accounting and management are certified by AACSB.

The faculty passed the eligibility application after an AACSB committee visited the premises to assess the quality of educational standards for both Bachelor's and graduate studies in June 2022. AACSB accreditation increases graduates’ chances for employment and education at leading institutions in the world.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Wanamina Bostan Ali, Assistant Dean for Corporate Development and a professor in the Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Management Sciences, explained that the faculty is entering the process of accreditation by AACSB to produce highly talented graduates sought after by employers. The faculty will also benefit from accreditation in terms of strategic planning to accomplish the mission of the institution and gain higher potential.

“At present, the faculty plans important activities and processes in accordance with the mission of the University. The research results present a process to measure and improve learning and systematic teaching, along with enhancing the quality of the teachers. Since AACSB standards reflect high-quality development of business administration education at the international level, to be accredited by AACSB could signify successful efforts on the team’s part as well.”
