Freshmen join student activities, carry on the PSU's resolution "Our soul is for the benefit of mankind"

On 22 June 2022, the activity “Our soul is for the benefit of mankind” was organized by PSU for freshmen as part of the new student orientation program for academic year 2022. The event’s aim was to build awareness of social responsibility and harmonious living. Asst. Prof. Supote Kovitaya, Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relations, delivered the opening speech. Freshmen took part of various service-related activities such as making alcohol gel, categorizing books, cleaning communal areas, and collecting waste. They had also been educated on waste sorting, and planting activities at public places in Songkhla.

Asst. Prof. Supote said that academic year 2022 is fortunate because the COVID-19 pandemic has eased, giving freshmen an opportunity to engage in activities. A hybrid format is used to plan, design, and apply for student activities best suited for their interests, either onsite or online. These activities are organized by the university, together with faculty members, staff, seniors, twelve areas in Songkhla, five sub-districts, and seven municipalities.

The university recognizes the importance of raising public awareness among students to foster "honesty, discipline, wisdom, and the public-service mindset”, with the hope that students will live a happy university life, achieve their goals in education, graduate with good qualities, and adhere to creating benefits for society.
