PSU President Dr. Niwat explained that March 13th of every year is celebrated as the founding day of PSU, and has been designated as "Pride of PSU day". The event provides an occasion to express gratitude to the society in sharing knowledge and building qualified human resources to develop the country for the benefit of mankind, corresponding to PSU’s stated mission to develop the southern region for the well-being and resilience of society, particularly during disaster or crisis situations.

The university recognizes societal expectations. Accordingly, it is determined to create value through four main missions: graduate production, research, academic service, and the preservation of arts and culture. PSU has created works that are accepted and appreciated by society, as evident from the various awards received through PSU’s five campuses. The university plays a significant role in the treatment of suffering, nourishing happiness for society through various activities. This was particularly evident during the COVID-19 outbreak, when all five campuses have participated in social care by opening a field hospital, vaccination center and take care of patients who needed to be hospitalized. Economic well-being was also considered, as PSU created an online trading platform that helps in generating income and facilitate the members’ economic activities. In addition, new entrepreneurship is encouraged and assisted by promotion through PSU’s Science Park by creating startups and the conditions for maintaining stable and sustainable business.

Dr. Wandee mentioned that the event features a special lecture from Dr. Suvit Maesincee on the topic "PSU in the future, and a way to create value for society", alongside other activities, such as PSU anthem singing, Nora dance performance, a showcase of alumni and PSU values, and activities about PSU values to society.
