PSU and Mae Fah Luang University continue cooperation to develop the North-South University Network

       On 17 March 2022, PSU and Mae Fah Luang University (MFU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on academic cooperation. The signing parties were represented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Keawpradup, President of Prince of Songkla University, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chayaporn Wattanasiri, President of Mae Fah Luang University. The event was facilitated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Thakerng Wongsirichot, PSU Vice President for International Affairs. 

       The signed MoU will facilitate collaboration and support regarding knowledge management tools, knowledge exchange, and management experience exchange to benefit the higher education community and the society in research management, graduate studies, teaching methodology, student development, human resource management, planning and development, budgeting, income generation, academic quality assessment, institutional quality assessment, and the implementation of social missions. The agreement will also encourage staff of the two institutions to build cooperation and jointly participate in various related activities.

       An additional MoU was also signed on academic cooperation between MFA’s School of Agro-Industry, and PSU’s Faculty of Agro-Industry. The ceremony was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Saroat Rawdkuen, Dean of the Office of Agro-Industry, MFU; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wirote Youravong, Dean of the Faculty of Agro-Industry, PSU. The new agreement enables the two groups to cooperate in exchanging teachers, researchers, and information, and promoting academic and research activities to develop academic knowledge. The signing parties also plan to jointly organize projects and activities for students.

       MFU’s visit was concluded by a meeting to discuss the North-South University Network Project, in which PSU and MFU are the main coordinators, with a number of universities in the North and the South participating in order to build a strong executive network, exchange knowledge, and share experiences in terms of developing a new way of higher education among network members. The network also aims to develop academic quality and promote academic cooperation, research and innovation at international standards.

       MFA executives and staff were given a tour of various PSU facilities, such as the Science Park, the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Graduate School, and EdPEX.
