Remote Lancang-Mekong Classroom at PSU Trang Campus funded by Fudan University

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Udomphon Puetpaiboon, PSU Vice President for Trang Campus, revealed that the campus has received equipment to set up the Remote Lancang-Mekong Classroom, a state-of-the-art facility to support teaching activities. The new facility will also host a number of international academic activities, including conferences and seminars for students, faculty, and interested members of the public. Major international events, particularly activities between PSU and Fudan University, will also be hosted there, such as the Youth Innovation Competition on Lancang-Mekong Region's Governance and Development (YICMG) project.

Remote Lancang-Mekong Classroom at PSU Trang Campus funded by Fudan University

Prince of Songkla University is the only university in Thailand that has been selected to establish a Lancang-Mekong Youth Exchange and Cooperation Center in the country. Located at PSU Trang Campus, the established facility is the result of a cooperation agreement signed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Kaewpradub, PSU President, together with the leaders of Fudan University and four other Mekong countries in 2019.

Fudan University is a top-tier university in China, and its long-standing academic cooperation with Prince of Songkla University has resulted in excellent programs for student mobility, such as a joint degree (3+1) program with the PSU Faculty of Liberal Arts, and the Clinical Elective Program with the Faculty of Medicine. Other mutually beneficial activities include the Youth Innovation Competition on Lancang-Mekong Governance Development (YICMG), and activities under Lancang-Mekong Youth Exchange and Cooperation Center, such as the Lancang-Mekong Youth Online workshop project, and the Online Teaching Forum project.

Dr. Udomphon has also expressed expectations that the Remote Lancang-Mekong Classroom will be of great benefit to PSU students and faculty through increased access to remote training activities, alongside a broader range of academic and cultural exchange opportunities. The new feature will also present an excellent opportunity to foster greater cross-border cooperation among higher education institutions of the six Mekong countries of Cambodia, China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam.
