PSUIC student at Hat Yai Campus received royal award in Higher Education 2020

 

     Mr. Prakatkit Ananlertsakul, a fourth-year student at the Creative Media and Digital Technology Department, International College, Hat Yai Campus, received the royal student award in Higher Education 2020 from the Ministry of Education.

       Mr. Prakatkit, nicknamed "Glory", is the son of Dr. Narong and Mrs. Waraporn Ananlertsakul. A native of Hat Yai, Songkhla, he is known for great academic performance, attending digital technology competitions, and acting as the secretary of the faculty's club. In his spare time, he  teaches media creativity and digital technology to elementary and middle school children.

       Mr. Prakatkit’s work includes social media websites, and the website Covid19TrackingStatus.org, which monitors and provides alerts regarding the number of COVID-19 infected people in Songkhla province and in Thailand, based on information from the Public Health Department of Songkhla Province. The site started in 2020.

       Mr. Prakatkit participated in the medical application development competition "My Caregivers: an application to search caregivers for patients and the elderly" in the 21st Thailand Computer Program Development Competition. He has also joined the Mobile Application Project "SABISU Platform, an application to facilitate shops and small businesses or SMEs" in the 22nd Thailand Computer Program Development Competition, where he received the second runner-up award at the national level together with Mr. Jetsadaorn Maliwan and Ms. Panitnan Chockchowwat, International College, PSU Hat Yai Campus. Moreover, he won the runner-up prize in the Toyota Art Camp competition in product design to help SMEs in Songkhla. He also participated in international souvenir design for exchange students through the FRIENDS Swag Design project by the PSU Global Affairs Office, and recently completed cooperative education training with Kasikorn Bank.

       Mr. Prakatkit said that he would like to be an inspiration to the new generation, and highlighted the importance of Creative Media and Digital Technology knowledge in social contributions. He described PSU’s academic environment as great, with generous, understanding and knowledgeable lecturers who support their students’ interests and are keen to educate them at all times.
