PSU organized Education Fair 2021 to promote self-reliance, adaptation during the pandemic.

       PSU has organized its annual Education Fair to disseminate academic knowledge to the public, aimed at solving problems occurring in Thailand, especially in its southern region. The event featured informative and interesting activities about “New Industrial Crops”, “Self-awareness in the COVID Situation” and “Connecting with society: PSU in the view of outsiders" on 14 August 2021 online.

       Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Kaewpradub, President of Prince of Songkla University, said that through the its annual Education Fair, PSU has been disseminating knowledge and innovation to the public annually, but in 2020-2021 the event has been organized online to account for the COVID-19 situation. This year, focus was placed on new industrial crops, and on perspectives on physical and mental health.

        Asst. Prof. Dr. Jumpol Chuenjitsiri, Vice President for Legal and Academic Services, and Chairperson of the PSU Education Fair, explained that this year PSU invited experts on industrial crops. Panelists included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ekasit Kumarasit, Faculty of Science; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Juraithip Wangsinthaveekul, Faculty of Pharmacy; Dr. Chulalak Chokpaisan, Assistant Dean for Traditional Thai Medicine Hospital, Faculty of Traditional Thai Medicine; Asst. Prof. Dr. Worawit Wanitsuwan, Medical Science Research and Innovation Institute; Ms. Wilaiwan Sakarin, Head of Consumer Protection Department, Songkhla Provincial Public Health Office; Mr. Phongsathorn Thammachat, Director of the Office of Narcotics Control Board, 9th Region, Songkhla; along with two moderators: Asst. Prof. Dr. Jumpol Chuenjitsiri, Vice President for Legal and Academic Services; and Asst. Prof. Dr. Chitchamai Ovatlarnporn, Associate Dean for Administration and Alumni, Faculty of Pharmacy.

       The second activity explored the topic “Self-awareness in the COVID Situation” by Dr. Kampanart Tansithabudhkun, M.D., an independent psychiatrist, together with a PSU alumnus who is a psychiatrist at Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital. The talk was moderated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Jumpol Chuenjitsiri, Vice President for Legal and Academic Services.

       The event was concluded by an interview with a new-generation idol and TV personality Mr. Suvikrom Amranand (Per) on the topic “Connecting with society: PSU in the view of outsiders", moderated by Ms. Netnapa Sutiwipakorn from the PSU Global Affairs and Corporate Communication Center.
