Surat Thani Campus drives Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) towards a Green and Clean Campus.

“PSU’s Surat Thani Campus is pleased to invite everyone to visit the beautiful sunflowers, sun hemp, cosmos, and other types of flowering plant gardens full of bloom around the area of the Learning Center building. These are the results of our Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for a Green and Clean Campus.”

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Charoen Nakason, Vice President for Surat Thani Campus, used these words to introduce PSU’s policy of Green and Clean Campus. Organic waste, leaf scraps and other kinds of waste are turned into fertilizers, along with the production of pyroligneous acid through burning charcoal. Moreover, he explained, they are adjusting and developing the area behind the Learning Center building by planting flowers, which are also distributed to other campuses.

Dr. Charoen further explained that the Learning Center building is located just in front of Tha Phet hill, the only one hill in the province that has very fresh air and scenic views for taking photos. However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, everyone, including PSU staff and students, must follow the D-M-H-T-T principles for health and safety while visiting the area.
