On October 28, 2020, Times Higher Education (THE), a leading London-based publication in the field of education has announced its annual World University Rankings 2021. Rank criteria include quality of teaching and learning, quality of research, number of citations, industry income, and international outlook. Results are further broken down into subject-specific rankings in the following disciplines: Arts and humanities, Business and economics, Computer science, Clinical and health, Education, Engineering, Law, Life sciences, Physical sciences, Psychology, and Social sciences.

       Within the Education discipline, Prince of Songkla University has achieved commendable levels both worldwide and within Thailand, as shown below:

Clinical and health: 601+
Engineering and technology: 801-1000
Life sciences: 601-800
Physical sciences: 1001+

Nationally:
Clinical and health: #5+

       Asst. Prof. Dr. Klairung Samart, Assistant to the President for Data Analysis at PSU, revealed that in the past, Prince of Songkla University had a quality score similar to that of the top universities, both in the field of teaching and learning and in international research. The ranking of a university plays a role in the determination of quality and reputation in various fields, thus serving as a useful guideline for improving the quality of teaching and learning, research and other fields. Since rankings also affect admissions, institutions need to find ways to improve the quality of the university ranking criteria, Dr. Klairung explained.
