PSU’s innovative teaching and learning tools in the Digital Disruption era

PSU prepares students of today for the job market of tomorrow through innovative use of cutting-edge technology with a student-centered learning approach, using integrated learning management systems. This approach to digital learning enhances analytical and creative thinking in creating innovations to solve real-world problems, and the Education and Innovative Learning Academy (EILA) is responsible for driving this noble mission forward.

EILA Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wandee Suttharangsee explained that to successfully achieve the high level of standards set by this policy, the English skills of PSU students will be developed not only through traditional classroom learning and through activities outside the classroom, but also by enabling the students to learn English on their own at any time through an online program called "Tell Me More". The unique feature of this program is its voice imitation and voice recognition system that allows users to practice their listening and speaking skills, and helps with their pronunciation.

PSU’s innovative teaching and learning tools in the Digital Disruption era       In addition to Tell Me More, another advanced learning resource that PSU offers is "PSUMOOC: Education for All, Unlimited Online Learning Resources", free and open to the public. PSUMOOC offers informative and useful courses in topics such as video editing programs, Chinese phonetics, and physical and mental wellness, to facilitate the ability to learn anywhere, anytime. Upon the successful completion of a course, participants receive an electronic certificate from the university. Fulfilling of the idea of making knowledge public, PSUMOOC is open for all interested individuals to participate, by visiting the site at https://mooc.psu.ac.th/

Another unique feature that PSU uses to ensure that its students are ready for the job market is its cooperative education program, an educational system that combines studying in the classroom with practical principles in the workplace, under the joint experience of teachers and external agencies. Students participating in this program have created works of national and international renown.

A testament to the success of this innovative approach is that PSU has been the recipient of the National Cooperative Education Award every year between 2013-2019 in all categories, namely Science and Technology, Outstanding Cooperative Education Innovation, Social Science, Humanities and Management, and Outstanding International Cooperative Education.

Today, the Education and Innovative Learning Academy works hard to fulfil another mission: to encourage PSU lecturers to improve themselves in the field of education, in order to be recognized as a professional teacher through the Prince of Songkla University Teaching Professional Standard Framework (PSU-TPSF) and the UK Professional Framework (UK-PSF).
