Mr. Phanupong Yomreung, one of the student participants, revealed that this year they submitted a project named “Eco-tourism with Application” under the theme “The development of tourism and other green industries”. The project showcased an online application about popular street food culture in six countries of the Mekong region. The application’s usefulness comes from its ease of use, delivering information right when users need it, rather than having to read books or brochures beforehand.

Mr. Abdulkode, another student presenting this project, pointed out that users need only to scan a QR code to find the nearest street food shop by GPS, or to find the shop most suitable to their budget. In addition, the app can process online payments and various promotions, making it very convenient to people interested in street food. It also allows travelers not only to appreciate the street food of the host country, but also to learn about the unique lifestyle, architecture and culture of the locals. At the same time, the application named “Tasty street” also appeals to sellers with a limited advertisement budget.

Students and advisors who participated in the competition are from the Faculty of Architecture and Faculty of Commerce and Management, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Udompon Puetpaiboon, Vice President for Trang Campus.
