Study Tour of Delegates from Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia, China

Picture 005PSU had the honor of receiving 15 delegates from Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and Inner Mongolia Province of P.R. China from February 19 – 22, 2013. Their study visit to PSU was part of the collaboration established in 2012 between the PSU Faculty of Medicine and the Network of Western Medical Universities of China. The objectives of their visit were to learn about the Thai health system, especially the development of human resources, and to discuss further collaboration between the institutions represented by the visiting delegates and PSU.

Prof. Dr. Amornrat Phongdara, Vice President for International Affairs; Prof. Virasakdi Chongsuvivatwong from the Epidemiology Unit, PSU Faculty of Medicine; and two Ph.D. students from Inner Mongolia actually studying at PSU Epidemiology Unit; welcomed our guests on February 20, at the President's Office Building.

During the meeting, all participants expressed their wish of strengthening our cooperation, in terms of staff and student exchanges, joint research and publications, health human resources improvement in rural areas, and policy reforms. Our guests also visited the Faculty of Medicine and Songklanagarind Hospital in Hat Yai Campus, the Faculty of Nursing (Establishment Project) in Pattani Campus, Chana and Yala hospitals, as well as Songkhla Provincial Health Office.
