HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously inaugurated the new Ratanachewaraksa hospital complex and emergency center, on 24 September 2014, at Prince of Songkla University, Hat Yai Campus. At this auspicious occasion, Her Royal Highness also opened the newly constructed PSU Hall of History.

A foundation stone ceremony marked the inauguration of the Ratanachewaraksa complex, a 14-storey building that serves as a center for medical education, patient care and community outreach for the southern region of Thailand. The complex houses well-equipped laboratories for cutting-edge research, along with state-of-the-art surgical equipment in six operating rooms for comprehensive care of emergency and trauma patients. A helipad on top of the building allows fast transportation. In addition, a great emphasis is placed on education, with medical professionals and experienced staff offering quality training and real-life work experience.

The PSU Hall of History showcases the integration of ideology and aspiration of HRH Prince Mahidol Adulyadej, the university’s role model and namesake. Another exhibit pays homage to HM the King of Thailand and his unwavering passion towards the betterment of the nation. Finally, a third exhibit explores the history and important achievements of our university.
