PSU Researcher Win Top Innovation Award

Asst. Prof. Sittichoke Anantaseree from the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Physical Medicine, PSU Faculty of Medicine, is the winner of the Top Innovation Award at the True Innovation Awards 2012.

Asst. Prof. Sittichoke Anantaseree received this award in recognition of his brand new innovation in trigger finger surgery, the Percutaneous Trigger Finger Scalpel. The blade of this scalpel is two millimeters in length, allowing for the surgeon to make only a minute incision when operating thus lessening the potential for complications. This means that precious surgical resources can be better managed, the duration of trigger finger surgery shortened, and the costs reduced. Most importantly, when surgeons operate using the Percutaneous Trigger Finger Scalpel, patients recover faster and even in some cases can be back to work within 24 hours of surgery.
