On 16 March 2023, Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Keawpradub, PSU President, welcomed H.E. Mr. Han Zhiqiang, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Thailand, as well as distinguished delegates from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China and the Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Songkhla, who visited the PSU Hat Yai Campus.

       Besides the honorable visit, His Excellency gave a special talk on the “Thai-Chinese Relations and the Development of China” to the numerous audience, which included PSU students and staff, as well as high-school students from Hat Yai. In his talk, His Excellency spoke about the Chinese economic growth, the successful measures to take care of the population during the epidemic, Chinese vision to build a well-being society in all aspects and eradicate the poverty across the country, as well as to build a modern country for the Chinese people. His Excellency  also mentioned the good relations and cooperation between China and Thailand, including the famous phrase “Zhong Tai Yi Jia Qin”, which means that Thailand and China are family, being the proudest phrase of our both nations.

       During the Q&A session, His Excellency emphasized on the importance for personal improvement of all people, which is also significant for the development of the country.    More than 100 attendees, including the Directors of the Confucius Institutes at PSU Hat Yai and Phuket campuses, as well as PSU administrators, joined this special event and warmly welcomed His Excellency to PSU.
