PSU co-hosts QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2022, aiming to develop education in the Asia-Pacific region

 

     PSU, in cooperation with QS Quacquarelli Symonds, co-hosted the international academic conference “QS Higher Ed Summit APAC 2022” under the theme “The Next Big Thing: Addressing New Opportunities and Existing Challenges in APAC Higher Ed”. The prestigious event was held from 8 to 10 November 2022 at InterContinental Jakarta Pondak Indah, Jakarta, Indonesia, broadcast live via Virtual Platform by Universitas Indonesia as the main host.

       During the opening ceremony on 8 November 2022, Prof. Dr. (H.C.) K.H. Ma'ruf Amin, Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, gave opening remarks. Prof. Ari. Kuncoro Rector at Universitas Indonesia gave a welcoming remark, representing the main host. Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Kaewpradub, President of Prince of Songkla University gave a welcoming remark as well, representing the co-host. The event was honored by Mr. Praphan Disyathat, Royal Thai Embassy Jakarta, while a special guest speaker, Assoc. Prof. Pasit Lorterapong briefed the audience on the topic of “Future Challenges and New Opportunities in Thai Higher Education”.

       QS Higher Ed Summit APAC 2022 focused on the future direction of education in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as looking for new challenges in developing education in the Asia-Pacific region. Regarded as a Global Education Community Platform of higher education institutions, the event provided opportunities for administrators from higher education institutions, researchers, CEOs, and leading academics from both public and private sectors from all over the world to meet and exchange ideas.

       On 9 November 2022, PSU was represented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Supatra Davison, Assistant to the President for ASEAN Affairs and Creative Economy, joining ASEAN leaders exchanging expert opinions under the topic “Officials Panel: Intraregional Collaboration and Influence”.

       In addition, exhibition booths provided opportunities for participants to discuss ideas, showcase the potential of universities, and build academic partnerships with institutions from all over the world.
