In December 2021, Mr. Chanapon Visojsongkram, 4th-year student in English for Business Communication, International College, Surat Thani Campus, has been invited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a UNODC (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime) Youth Candidate. In that capacity, Mr. Chanapon delivered a speech at a reception ceremony of the 75th anniversary of Thailand's membership in the United Nations (UN) celebration at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangkok.
The celebratory reception was organized to disseminate knowledge and demonstrate the values "be strong, be creative, and be consecutive” to represent Thailand at the United Nations, as well as to raise awareness among youth, and among Thai people in general, about multilateral diplomacy. Mr. Don Pramatwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, presided over the event and delivered the opening remarks. Participants included representatives of foreign diplomatic missions and international organizations in Thailand, youth representatives, and experts.
Attendees from various sectors also participated in the event, including Ms. Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana, Executive Secretary, United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP); Mrs. Gita Sabharwal, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Thailand; Mr. Benjamin Wangcharoenwongse, representative of Mahidol University International College's Model United Nations; and Mr. Chanapon Visojsongkram, representing as UNODC Youth Candidate.
