Chiang Mai University, with cooperation from Prince of Songkla University and Burapha University, organized the 19th AUN and 8th ASEAN+3 Educational Forum and Young Speakers’ Contest, at the University Academic Service Center, Chiang Mai University, from June 10 to 14, 2019.
These prominent youth activities of the ASEAN University Network (AUN) aimed to encourage students in ASEAN+3 to share their knowledge and perspectives of problems in their countries, and find solutions through cooperation among the students and the community. The event also helped promote ASEAN awareness among the region’s experienced future leaders. The activities, held under the theme of “Social Sustainability in ASEAN+3: the Challenges of Inclusive Growth”, were attended by 85 participants from 26 universities in ASEAN+3 countries.
This auspicious event was widely successful, as the participants learned to share their thoughts based on the given concept, both in terms of personal development and social sustainability of the region. Additionally, the delegates of the Educational Forum adopted a Joint Statement, which will be summitted to the APT Senior Officials Meeting on Youth (SOMY) through the ASEAN Secretariat.
