Dr. Wongkot Phuphumirat, PSU Assistant President for International Affairs, together with a PSU International Affairs officer, participated in the 2nd meeting of the “Furthering International Relations Capacities and Intercultural Engagement to Nurture Campus Diversity and to Support Internationalisation at Home (FRIENDS),” project, which took place from June 11-14, 2019 at Istanbul Aydin University, Istanbul, Turkey.
PSU is the leader of the Work Package 4 “FRIENDS Teahouses: Setup and Piloting,” and during this meeting, the PSU team introduced parallel workshops to all FRIENDS partners in order to facilitate the start of the activities in this work package. The activities in Work Package 4 are part of FRIENDS consortium members’ efforts to integrate international and intercultural dimensions into universities’ informal curriculum. The latter refers to students learning experiences outside the formal settings of the university classrooms that are obtained through a variety of extra-curricular activities.
The four-day event was an excellent opportunity for PSU to learn more about improving its internationalization capacities, expand its reputation on the global stage, and create meaningful cooperation with prominent partner higher education institutions.
