The ASEAN Secretariat and the AUN Secretariat have supported ASEAN university members to initiate the three-year platform and activities called International Teleconference on Technology and Policy for Supporting Implementation of COVID-19 Recovery Plan in Southeast Asia (ITTP-COVID19), with the objective to formulate policy recommendations and to identify relevant technologies for the post-pandemic ASEAN, facilitating the ASEAN Comprehensive Recovery Framework.
One of highlighted activities under this three-year plan is the ITTP-COVID19 Conference, held virtually from 6 to 8 August 2021. The conference featured various productive activities, resulting in several effective outcomes to aid the long-term recovery plan, including ASEAN country leaders sharing their experiences, ASEAN policy discussions, a product exhibition, a scientific paper presentation session, and cultural exposure. As an AUN member university, Prince of Songkla University also held a parallel session on "Engineering and Natural Sciences", led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sangsuree Vasupongayya, Acting Director of College of Digital Science Establishing Project.
In addition, PSU actively supported many of the conference's activities.
This three-day virtual event, which brought together academics and experts from universities across ASEAN to share their thoughts and research on the pandemic and the path forward, was successfully organized under the leadership of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Universitas Indonesia (UI), as well as the ITTP-COVID19 Secretariat.
