Prof. Dr. Nu Nu Yi, Pro-Rector of University of Mandalay, Myanmar, led a distinguished delegation of five Heads of Departments to visit PSU Hat Yai Campus from November 2-3, 2015. Our honorable guests have been warmly welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chusak Limsakul, PSU President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chutamas Satasook, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Asst. Prof. Dr. Pattara Aiyarak, PSU Vice President for Global Relations and Informatics; and Asst. Prof. Dr. Kewalin Thammasitboon, Assistant President for International Relations.
During the meeting, participants discussed the current and possible future collaborative activities between the two universities. Prince of Songkla University and University of Mandalay established the relationship in 2010, and enjoy an active and fruitful cooperation, especially in the area of Science. The Memorandum of Understanding between the two universities has been signed in September 2015, when a PSU team, led by PSU President, visited the University of Mandalay.
On this occasion, President Chusak also offered two scholarships to University of Mandalay for two students or staff to join the PSU 2016 Thai Cultural Camp, which will be arranged during the month of July. The PSU Thai Cultural Camp is a three-week summer program organized for staff and students from overseas universities, in order to learn more about Thailand such as culture, language, dance, food, traditional medicine and so on.
The honorable guests also had the chance to visit the PSU Faculties of Science and Law, and discuss with representatives of related departments on the future academic and research cooperation in various fields. They also take a campus tour and visited the PSU Natural History Museum.
