The Faculty of Architecture, PSU Trang Campus, in collaboration with its esteemed partners—the Council of Architects, the Association of Siamese Architects under the Royal Patronage, and the Council of Deans of the Faculty of Architecture of Thailand organized the 8th Annual Exhibition of Design and Creative Works. The event was from December 12, 2024, to January 12, 2025, at the Southern Art and Cultural Hall, Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Cultural Studies, PSU Pattani Campus. The exhibition was officially opened by Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Keawpradub, President of PSU, and featured opening remarks by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Apiradee Kasemsook, Chairperson of the Council of Deans of the Faculty of Architecture of Thailand (CDAST), along with a warm welcome speech by Asst. Prof. Orakanya Nguansonsakul, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, PSU Trang Campus.
The event was further enriched by distinguished speakers who shared their expertise and perspectives. Prof. Dr. Sanit Aksornkoae delivered an inspiring lecture on "Architecture Research and Innovation to Overcome the Crisis of a Boiling World," while Mr. Rachit Radenahmad held his talk on "Awakening the City with Creative Art." Assoc. Prof. Yupoong Maesilpin also presented "Legends I Wish to Tell." These lectures offered valuable insights and fostered meaningful academic exchange. The exhibition showcased 109 exceptional works from various institutions, highlighting the creativity and innovation within the architectural community.
Dr. Niwat emphasized that the Faculty of Architecture plays a pivotal role not only in cultivating high-quality architects and designers but also in contributing to the creation of impactful academic and professional design works. He highlighted that organizing the Architectural Exhibition is a key initiative, offering faculty members a valuable platform to present and exchange ideas with their peers in the field. This endeavor, he added, fosters innovation and drives ongoing development within Thailand’s architecture industry.
Dr. Apiradee elaborated on the origins of the "Architectural Exhibition" project, explaining that it serves as a platform to showcase creative design works across various disciplines, including architecture, regional and urban planning, community design, and related fields. The exhibition emphasizes the application of academic knowledge to diverse design approaches, effectively bridging theory and practice. She noted that the Council of Deans of the Faculty of Architecture of Thailand (CDAST), as the primary organizer, recognizes the significance of highlighting design works and has consistently upheld this initiative. The exhibition not only demonstrates the integration of design disciplines but also presents fresh perspectives and ideas, showcasing the academic strength within the field. Moreover, it fosters the continued academic growth of designers, contributing to sustainable development in the future. This year, CDAST entrusted the Faculty of Architecture, PSU Trang Campus, to take the lead in organizing this impactful event.
Assoc. Prof. Orakanya highlighted the significance of the "Architectural Exhibition" as a vital platform for faculty members to present their design works in architecture and related fields. She explained that the exhibition goes beyond showcasing works; it is an essential component in enhancing academic and professional quality. Additionally, it plays a key role for faculty members pursuing academic positions, aligning with the standards set by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI). The Faculty of Architecture, PSU Trang Campus, takes pride in supporting this initiative, providing a valuable opportunity for faculty members and experts from various institutions to present works that exemplify creativity, quality, and academic rigor. This project not only advances the architectural profession but also strengthens academic collaboration among universities nationwide.
