H. E. Mr. Osman Bülent Tulun, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Thailand, visited PSU Hat Yai Campus on February 18, 2016. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Perapong Tekasakul, Vice President for Research System and Graduate Studies, together with Asst. Prof. Supote Kovitaya, Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Affairs, as well as administrators from several PSU faculties, warmly welcomed His Excellency.
PSU has close relationship with many universities in Turkey, such as Ankara University, Fatih University, Firat University and Marmara University. The collaborative activities with Turkish universities include executive visits, staff and student exchanges, joint research, and joint seminars and conferences, especially at PSU College of Islamic Studies and Faculty of Political Science. Moreover, the Faculty of Political Science established in 2013 a Center of Turkish Studies, which can promote Turkish Studies among Thai students and support the good relationship and trade between our countries.
During the meeting, His Excellency appreciated the fruitful collaboration of PSU with Turkish educational institutions and assured of his thoughtful support for strengthening university's cooperation with Turkey. Therefore, His Excellency cordially accepted the invitation of Asst. Prof. Chitchanok Rahimmula, Dean of the PSU Faculty of Political Science, to be an honorable keynote speaker on the topic "Turkey's Relationships with European Union" at PSU Pattani Campus on March 29, 2016.
