PSU had a great honor to welcome His Excellency Mr. Tshewang Chophel Dorji, Ambassador of Bhutan to Thailand, and Mr. Gembo Tshering, First Secretary, on 5 September 2019. The productive discussion, chaired by PSU President Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Keawpradub, focused on enhancing the relationship and exploring potential areas for collaboration between Bhutan and PSU. The Embassy conveyed their interest in getting Bhutanese nurses trained at PSU’s hospitals, and in fostering Bhutan herbal product entrepreneurship through development and design workshops at PSU. Having established these mutual areas of interest, the two sides agreed to discuss further details and procedures of implementation in the near future.
PSU plays an important role in enhancing the friendship between the Kingdom of Bhutan and the Kingdom of Thailand, by having several Bhutanese students enrolled through scholarships from the Royal Thai Government via the Thailand International Development Cooperation Agency and other scholarship providers. In the current academic year, nine Bhutanese students are studying at PSU’s Hat Yai campus, while more than 30 Bhutanese alumni have graduated from various faculties of PSU, including the Faculties of Hospitality and Tourism, Medicine, Dentistry, Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Liberal Arts, and Management Science.
