The first “MARCO POLO” Project training module took place from July 24-28, 2017 at Prince of Songkla University, Hat Yai, Thailand. The training aims at studying different structures of an International Relations Office and its functions, possible services to students and university community, organisation of work and institutional implementation. The training was conducted by two experts from FH Joanneum, Austria, and it was comprised of theory, presentations and case studies.
A total of 12 participants joined the event from four member countries: two experts from FH Joanneum, Austria; and two representatives each from Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology and Hanoi University from Vietnam; University of Malaya and Universiti Sains Malaysia from Malaysia; and Naresuan University from Thailand.
Apart from sharing the information among the participants from member universities, PSU also invited the faculty representatives to discuss possibilities of mutually beneficial collaboration, with the conclusion of identifying areas of common interest.
In addition, the trainees had a chance to discover Thai culture by taking a scenic tour of landmarks in Songkhla city, paving the way for the second “MARCO POLO” Project training module, which will take place at Universiti Sains Malaysia in Penang, Malaysia, from 21-25 August 2017.
