Prof. Dr. Kalidas Shetty, Associate Vice President for Global Outreach from North Dakota State University (NDSU) in U.S.A., visited PSU from October 28-29, 2013. The objective of his visit was to discuss the future collaborative activities between NDSU and PSU, under the MOU signed in April 2013. PSU representatives from Hat Yai, Pattani, and Phuket campuses, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Teerapon Srichana, Dean of the Graduate School, warmly welcome our distinguished guest.
During his visit, Dr. Shetty met with representatives from various PSU faculties and had fruitful discussions about activities to be initiated between our two universities, such as dual degree graduate programs, joint publications, research collaborations, and joint workshops. Other important matter discussed was the establishment of a PSU-NDSU Center for Advanced Studies, which will greatly facilitate collaborative programs not only between our universities, but also among worldwide universities.
Dr. Shetty also mentioned that NDSU offers two Ph.D. scholarships to PSU, one in the area of Agriculture and the other in the Engineering field. Moreover, NDSU will waive the tuition fee for three undergraduate PSU students, who can go to NDSU as exchange students for a period of 3-12 months.
