Prince of Songkla University has been ranked among the top 800 universities in the world by Times Higher Education (THE), a leading London-based publication in the field of education. PSU’s 601-800 world ranking placed the university in the same bracket as Chiang Mai University, Chulalongkorn University, Khon Khaen University, King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi and Suranaree University of Technology.
This ranking puts PSU in the top four percent of more than 20,000 universities from all over the world.
The weekly magazine THE started publishing its annual Times Higher Education World University Rankings in 2004, marking this year the 12th iteration of the academic publication.
This year, California Institute of Technology (Caltech) still ranks No.1 in the world for the fifth consecutive year. In Asia, University of Tokyo takes first place on the continent and No. 23 in the world. Mahidol University is ranked No.1 in Thailand, in the range of 501-600 worldwide.
